When I was in high school, it wasn’t uncommon to see me with my lime green iPod nano, earbuds in, the volume just a bit too loud. You’d also notice me writing in a notebook, doodling in the margins of notes, or typing out fiction in a Word document while I listened. Tomorrow is the last day of this impossible year, and I’m waiting for 2017 with a mixture of hope and trepidation. This year I’ve learned that there are times when I must let things be, and other times when being quiet simply won’t do. In the last few weeks, I’ve really felt this need for change in my life. Granted, I’ve felt this before. In fact, I believe I’ve blogged about it. But this time it’s different. This time there’s a pulling in my gut, a nagging that won’t go away. There’s an odd sense of urgency regarding my writing and my other creative endeavors.

A Boost in Confidence!

Have you ever just felt uplifted and supported and sure that what you’re doing isn’t crazy? My dream is to be an author. I write almost every day. I have enjoyed writing my own stories since I was in third grade. I’m so sure that writing is what I’m meant to do and is my purpose. Yet I have so many doubts.

And tonight those doubts were sent packing.

A Month of Losses

I look forward to December every year. Not only is the month of my birthday, but it’s carries my favorite holiday: Christmas. Every December is a month of celebration, not only for my birthday and Christmas, but because school’s done, I have more free time to write, and I have extra hours to catch up with my friends.
